Our purpose

Preserving human agency in AI systems.

We built a harness for AI, with a human at every commit.

Starling Memory Works makes Starling MX, an AI office built on a sovereign Org Library. Start self-serve with Smart Office, or plug into the AI you already run with Smart Enterprise. Both keep your knowledge outside the model — where every business needs to move it.

True Information Sovereignty

Turn off the AI’s memory.

Put your knowledge at the top of the stack.

Problem

A large language model sits at the top of the stack holding AI memory, with human knowledge hanging off it as a branch and work below.

The model holds your memory.

Solution

Human knowledge sits at the top, a domain language model beneath it governs the stack, the AI systems become branches off it, and work sits below.

Human Knowledge

The model is a utility.

The problem. Today the AI’s memory sits above the model, and your knowledge is a side input it absorbs. What it learns about your business lives in a system you don’t govern.

The solution. Your knowledge goes on top, in a repository you own. A Domain Language Model reads it by address and does the work, and the model plugs in from the side, interchangeable. If your favorite model is shut down, you point another at the same Org Brain.

The model that reasons should be separate from the memory it reasons over — the way the bank that takes your deposits was split from the one that speculates with them.

The founder

“You have to organize your knowledge base for AI, rather than trying to make AI work for your scattered data systems.”

Chris Kincade spent years coaching founders on values, positioning, and process before turning those frameworks into something a machine could execute. Starling is the result: consulting-grade organizational thinking, encoded as a memory architecture any model can read.

He writes On Cognitive Design, the weekly brief on sovereign organizational memory.
